Simply Bring It is the fourth studio album and starting time full-length album[1] by Japanese ring Band-Maid, released on Jan xi, 2017 in Nippon via Crown Stones and February 10, 2017 internationally by JPU Records. The record was preceded by the quintet'southward showtime earth tour and the unmarried "YOLO", released in Nov 2016. The anthology reached number 16 on the Japanese Oricon Albums Chart,[ii] selling 4,015 copies in its start week.[3]
The terminal track "Secret My Lips" was rearranged in the Japanese traditional mode with Kyoto dialect lyrics, and the music video was released as "Undercover Maiko Lips" for 2018 April Fools' Day.[4]
The international release from JPU Records includes English lyric translations and Romaji lyric transliterations.[5]
Background [edit]
Later on the release of mini-anthology New Commencement in 2015, the group were signed to major Japanese record characterization Crown Stones, as well equally sealing international distribution through JPU Records for the beginning time. The group played their first U.k. show at MCM London Comic Con in May 2016, ahead of the release of Brand New Maid.[6] Afterwards completing the recording of their kickoff full-length anthology, the ring embarked on their start world tour,[7] including stops in the UK,[8] before releasing single "YOLO" in November, along with a music video.[9] The second music video, "Don't You lot Tell Me", was released on ix Jan to coincide with the release of the album in Nihon.[10]
Composition [edit]
The lyrics for "Puzzle" are almost wanting to be near to your lover fifty-fifty though yous shouldn't.[11]
Atomic number 82 guitarist Kanami Tōno wanted to brand "Moratorium" more technical, but rhythm guitarist/backing vocaliser Miku Kobato wanted her to make it more of a song that everyone could sing along to.[12] Tōno wrote the instruments first and added the vocal tune after.[xi] Tōno wrote the guitar riff past humming information technology, but when she attempted to play it she found it difficult then she expert it a lot.[xi] The male staff contributed to the backing vocals.[13] [12]
Tōno wrote "YOLO" before Band-Maid when she was a singer-songwriter, but bundled information technology to fit the mode of the band.[11]
"OOPARTs" was included because they wanted to take a song that was closer to the pop stone that they originally played.[xi]
Tōno wrote "Take Me Higher!!" to exist a classic rock sounding song.[14]
"Awkward" was the offset song written for the album.[15] [eleven] [16] Tōno and bassist Misa cowrote it.[xv] [xi] [16] The lyrics draw a adult female who has lost her love, just is determined to await forrard and movement on.[16]
"Decided by Myself" was the last song written for the album.[eleven] [17] Tōno wrote it with the image of an ending theme to an anime.[12] [11] [16]
They originally considered using "Hugger-mugger My Lips" equally the opening song, simply ultimately, "Don't You Tell Me" was chosen instead.[17]
